159 - From Our Cabin to Yours

This week it's nothing but Cabin. Cabin, Cabin, Cabin.  If you haven't yet seen Cabin in the Woods, go do that, then come back here and listen to Count Vardulon, DM, and their special guest Rob Rector, as they gush over Joss Whedon's and Drew Goddard's masterful horror film.

158 - All Due Apologies

This week, in a run-up to finally getting to see Cabin the Woods, Count Vardulon and DM watch three movies with the word "cabin" in the title.  One of them, it turns out, has very little to do with cabins, while another isn't really about anything at all.  Join your friends as they salute repertory theatres and talk about what Luc Besson is doing these days.

157 - Lost Footage

Thanks to Green People Soup, who don't know I stole this picture.

This week your friends Count Vardulon and DM take a look at found footage horror from three different countries.  Sadly, the one with the best title turns out to be the worst film.  DM tries and fails to be kind to chavs, and the Count makes Eurocentric overtones.  Tune in to hear all about movie trailers, and stay to hear too much about Spartacus.  Click here to watch hipsters die.

Poll resutls: Would you watch a shitty DTV movie even if it had an actor you like?

156 - TerrorWolf

This week your friends Count Vardulon and DM watch three movies which prove the importance of thinking things through.  Seriously, if you're thinking of making a movie, you might want to check and make sure your perfectly respectable premise doesn't turn you into a child murderer, or that your script has continuity from one scene to the next.  Come to hear why the world of Castle is populated with the worst criminals ever, and stay to learn about Comedy Network censorship.  Also, Anonymous is back!

Poll Results: Do you believe that animated features are, at times, more sophisticated than live action films?
Yes, it's easier to explore complex and delicate issues through animation.  100%
Write-in vote: The medium should not have an impact on depth of story.

155 - Requiem for a Funky Boy

Not the Funky Boy we mean, but RIP Dwayne McDuffie.

This week your friends Count Vardulon and DM take a break from watching crap to sit down and enjoy what three different animation studios have to offer.  It was a good idea because this week's movies are all good.  Well, two out of three, anyway.  And the second one is kind of midling.  But holy crap, Redline!  Tune in to hear a lot about video games and TV and click here to learn about how crybaby nerds are making a difference.

153 - Better Than You've Heard

Because Mass Effect 3 is big news this week.

This week your friends Count Vardulon and DM are surprised by the three films they take in.  One proves to be way less terrible than everyone thinks it is, one is a lot worse, and a third is so amazing-looking and everyone should see it.  Who knew the Swiss were so adept at sci-fi?  Listen to The Count promote the greatest Terminator game ever, and hear DM talk about how that one episode of Futurama really bothered her.

Poll results: Is Christian Slater past his prime?
Sadly, yes  50%
Not as long as I've got a working VCR  50%
