80 - Billy Zane is Awesome

This week your friends Count Vardulon and The Divemistress are joined by their very special guest Anonymous.  DM and Anon do their best to "review" Inception without talking about it because The Count hasn't seen it yet.  They run down LoveFilm's top ten list of most confusing films and launch into a lively discussion of some pretty flat movies.  Except for The Orphanage.  They really liked that one.

Poll Results: Most of you believed the Skunk Ape is extant.  Next in line for possibly actually existing was the Jersey Devil, followed by the Yeti and the Sasquatch (tie).

  1. Ironically, the moment Inception ended, both me and a random stranger said "Fuck you, Christopher Nolan." Because yeah, the ending is in my opinion, a horrible blemish on a solid film.

But yeah, aside from that disagreement (and plenty of people I respect do really like Inception, so I know I'm in the vast minority here.), I really loved this Avod, and I hope that Anonymous becomes a recurring guest star the way Brad has. :)

  2. I remember there were some audible gasps when the movie ended, like the sound of minds being blown.

I'll pass on your comment to Anonymous and see if we can get her back--she loves to talk, so I don't think it'll be a problem :P Thing is, she really doesn't like horror movies, but it is fun to have her question films she's never seen.

  3. Yeah, I think part of my problem with the film is that I saw the ending coming, around half way around the film. In fact, there were two really bad endings that were running through my mind, and fortunately Nolan picked the less-irritating one. It was still not a good ending though, IMO. But hey, at least it was an intelligent film, unlike so many films floating out there. Christopher Nolan TRIED to get audiences thinking, and in many respects he did succeed. I just had a few problems with particular choices he made, and the way the film ended just sums those frustrations up.

Ah, alright. She just seemed like a pretty cool person, so it would be nice to see her pop up again from time to time. :D
